A deep dive into the ethos of this young technology company results in multiple references to vast natural spaces, and a concept emerged: Depth. There’s depth found in nature, depth of thinking that fuels this business, and depth in this unique layout in which we enter on the 5th floor and circulate down a central stair. We brought a new meaning to “scrappy,” which every startup likes to see themselves as in their early days, and added “sophisticated.” We aren’t playing around, instead we are playing up our opportunities to inspire connection and reflection, through strategic use of materials, custom elements, and lighting. All while referencing San Francisco in hundreds of ways. Friends created a sculptural cork art installation to buffer reverberation from the existing wall of glass that anchors the reception lobby. Collaborators produced the super long reception counter, with slatted wood details that get repeated in wallpapers and upholstery throughout the office. Design partners Medium Small built a three-dimensional logo that replicates the “bouncing” animation that’s so popular amongst internal teams. And, we can’t reference nature without abundant plants - curated in conjunction with The Wright Gardner. Anand’s holistic approach and hospitality-inspired process resulted in a space that is enjoyable to navigate, full of incidental moments and surprising touchpoints. Plus we met our budget and schedule goals during the Covid lockdown!
